We explored all we could in Manzanillo, so decided to head out and find new adventures and explore other parts of Costa Rica. Kevin somehow found an amazing place! Best part - it has AC!! It is a slow slow time in this area for tourists so we were upgraded to a beautiful room that has 2 queen beds, frig, lovely sitting area, coffee pot complete with Costa Rica coffee, sits just below the pool and a water garden the birds love, has a huge balcony that overlooks the Rain Forest, is way up on the mountain with no noise but the birds and night insects, and the shower is the bomb with great hot water and water pressure and two shower heads! The bathroom is very unique with the shower being outside, but with a solid wall around it and an 1/2 roof over it so you are outside, but very private, and you can listen to the jungle sounds as you clean. Awesome!!!
We stopped on our way up at a place called "Sun Sun Lodge" in Sarapiqui. We stopped there because Kevin needed to switch and let me drive and it the area was a great place to swap. However, the more I looked at the place, the more I wanted to check it out. I drove us on back the drive and were pleased with the beauty and class of the place. We were not sure if the restaurant was open and found out that it would open in 20 minutes (at 11:30 am). We were invited to look around, walk their paths, and even go swimming in their in-ground pool if we wanted to. The host/owner was wonderful to talk with, Arturo Hernandez Martinez. He was originally from Columbia but has lived in Costa Rica for 53 years now. The meal was wonderful and Arturo gave me a "souvenir" bag of Costa Rica coffee and some of their coffee beans dipped in white and dark chocolate. How sweet of him! He promised us discounted rates if we came back to Costa Rica and stayed there, which is a definite possibility. We also got a few photos of different Hummers while exploring the grounds and eating our lunch/dinner (since we have been here we have eaten one big meal for the day, and nibbled on light things whenever hungry).
Now I'm sitting here, almost cold in the unaccustomed AC, sipping on a Buho Amber Bock, typing my portion of the blog while Kevin is out photographing the place after dark, which I'm sure he will add those photos and I know they will be spectacular because it is beautiful in the dark also. This all after taking a walking in a pouring Rain Forest rain, and again, the weather gods were nice enough to wait until we got situated in the room and had taken photos of the Tucans across the street, some Hummingbirds, and Lola, the parrot that runs the place. There are covered swings dotted all along their property so you can take in the scenery under cover also. This place is heaven!
Well, now to go through my photos from today (not too many as we traveled over 5 hours) but hopefully you will enjoy them.

PS We are here 3 days so we can explore the waterfall 500 meters up the road (La Fortuna Waterfall/Arenal Volcan - which is the #1 rated waterfall of the top 5 in Costa Rica and plummets 70-meters (230-feet) )
, along with all kinds of natural hot springs and visit the town below, which is supposedly a neat tourist town. I already saw a store I want to go to to get a hammock for our porch. I'm in love with hammocks after spending time in the one in Manzanillo.
PSS Kevin just came in and told me there was frog I needed to photograph. When looking for a certain lens for this, I realized I had left it somewhere while photographing the Tucans and Hummingbirds. Thankfully the owner of the facility had found it and had it back in her office. While waiting for her to get it, Lola "told me" she wanted her head and neck scratched again (by putting her head down and waiting until I started scratching), how could I not comply with her request? LOL in heaven loving on an animal. :)
