Costa Rica Day 12 - Stephanie

Another spectacular day with Kevin!  This time we explored the Mistaco National Park and rain forest (half of the hike in the rain, go figure!).  It was a good hike, we crossed over 14 bridges, saw Howler Monkeys, Tucans, humming birds, butterflies (I discovered today butterflies do not cooperate at all to have their photos taken, and they are much hard to capture than hummers), beautiful waterfalls and streams, all kinds of beautiful vegetation, and one Slouth (however that one was up in the shadows and photos could not come out).  I also saw something I'd only seen so far in my Costa Rica book - a Stingless Bee entry into a tree.  I also saw far off in the distance a huge tan colored "structure" in a tree, and upon further inspection when zooming in on the photo, looks like a colony of some sort of wasp, bee, or hornet?  I don't know.

After our hike we checked out the natural hot springs.  It was different and the water was definitely warm.  We plan on getting up early and going to check it out with swimsuits on.

Then dinner at Anchio Pizzeria & Ristorante - YUM and way too large of portions to finish there, plus the chef sent us over a nice flan drizzled in chocolate with his compliments.  He also allowed me to come back to where he baked the pizzas and calzone in the wood brick pizza oven to photograph it.  Very nice restaurant!

And then there are Geico's earning their keep by keeping the lights bug free, LOL!

Who knows what tomorrow may bring.  We are considering a "cruise" on the lake, or taking a sky tram up to the top and then zip lining back down.  I vote for the latter......Whee, whee, whee!!  :)

This morning I did get caught up on Day 3 and posted photos.  Hopefully tomorrow I can work on Day 4's photos and get that done.

Good night from Costa Rica!
